One prof does Argentina, another environmental history, and the other Latin Americanist told me flat out there’s no money in the program and I should apply elsewhere.

I’m mulling over even applying to a certain university. They do not have a full-time faculty member who specializes in Mexican history. Red flag. I can’t graduate with a Ph.D. in Latin American history with a specialization in Mexican history and all the faculty study Panama and Colombia. It doesn’t make sense and it would hurt me.

I met with my professor and she was helpful.
I hung up a million fliers around campus advertising my organization’s upcoming events in February.
